Employee engagement at Essex County Council

As part of their organisational change programme, Essex County Council established an employee communications and engagement team to support the council in improving engagement levels at both organisational and team level.

They focussed on manager’s skills and behaviours aimed at ensuring they were effective and engaging people managers as well as involving staff in the change process through employee panels, forums and engagement champion volunteers.
