CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) showcases Torbay Council.
An employee survey revealed that staff morale had dropped significantly with only 11 per cent of employees believing staff morale was good. An internal Working Group was formed to address the issue and write a new strategy to include the finer details of why employees felt disengaged.
A new operation plan included several key changes and introductions: the re-branding and better use of targeted internal communication methods – including more access to company news: the introduction of a film to engage staff rather than traditional methods, compulsory team talks, shadowing days and feedback on changes made in response to survey results. A new survey showed a significant improvement with 68 per cent of employees rating morale as good.
