Employee Engagement in the Public Sector: Some thoughts on implementation

Professor John Oliver shares his thoughts that employee engagement in most forms entails a degree of delegated decision making. However in large public sector organisations, the decision making process often faces challenges and obstacles. Five key strategies are identified: communication, recognition, behaviours, understanding each manager’s shadow of influence and continuous improvement.
