The Proof There’s No ‘I’ in Team

As the saying goes, no man (or woman) is an island, and that’s no different in business. Team work is a vital part of any business, and recognising when to ask for help and from whom is the key to success. Though Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates are all household names, their successes didn’t come about purely by their own hands. The new infographic from Colonial Life shines the spotlight on the sometimes forgotten or hidden figures behind these top entrepreneurs, and proves that there really is no ‘I’ in team.

The teams behind some of these top entrepreneurs have been vital in the creation and smooth running of some of the world’s biggest brands, for example although the cars bear the name of Henry Ford, he did in fact have a team of three men, all with different areas of expertise, helping him to create his vision of reliable and reasonably priced cars. Walt Disney, on the other hand, had a team of 11 helping him out in the early days of Disney.

The infographic also looks at some dynamic business duos, including Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, who are responsible for one of the world’s biggest ice cream companies, Warren Buffet and Charles Munger, and relative newbies Elizabeth Cutler and Julie Rice, who founded the hit fitness trend SoulCycle.

As you can see, team work has been instrumental to some of the most recognisable brands in the world, and the power and knowledge of those behind the scenes should never be ignored or underestimated. So let’s give these lesser known business heroes the recognition they deserve!
