Show #138: The The State of Employee Disengagement in the UK

Special Guest: Rob Catalano, Vice President, Global Expansion & Engagement, Achievers Achievers

The most successful businesses are rooted in an engaged workforce, where employees are valued for their contributions. It seems simple, yet many companies are missing the mark when it comes to inspiring their employees. In a recent 2015 Workforce Report, The greatness gap: The state of employee disengagement, we asked UK employees for feedback about their workplace. Their responses indicated a greatness gap:

  • 68% of employees are not happy at work.
  • 70% of employees don’t know their company’s cultural values.
  • 60% of employees don’t feel recognised for their achievements at work.

This show discusses the results from this recent survey, what’s missing at work for the employee, and actions HR professionals and business leaders can take today to start recognising their workforce and boosting engagement levels.

Rob Catalano is passionate about helping companies succeed – starting with their employees. He is a Certified Recognition Professional (CRP) and currently heads up Global Expansion & Engagement at Achievers, a company that helps large organisations engage, align and recognise employees using cloud technology and social tools.
