London, 02 March 2015:
The wait is nearly over for hopeful entrants in the inaugural Incentive & Motivation Awards, with the judges’ announcement of the shortlist for these coveted industry honours.
An independent panel of 14 judges gathered aboard the historic naval war ship the HQS Wellington to review and judge the entries.
Event director Wendy Carter (judging on behalf of EFS), said: “For the event’s first year we were pleased with the overall number of entries, and we’re very proud to have attracted such a strong judging panel who between them offer a vast array of knowledge of the incentive industry across Europe.”
Fair and robust judging was the top priority, and the rigorous process was chaired by Brian Dunne, managing director of SVM Europe. He said: “Having been part of many judging panels it is always key to protect the integrity of the judging process, to ensure that the scoring system is robust and that each nomination is judged on its own merits.”
Judges were impressed by the high quality of many entries, the best of which provided clear details of the project and evidence of measurable results.
John Sylvester, divisional managing director of p&mm Ltd, said: “We’re looking for something that is innovative, creative and clever. But above all a winning entry should include hard evidence of solving a business problem and delivering a good return on investment.”
Wendy Leedham, programme director at Lloyds TSB Offshore, said: “An award-winning entry will show evidence of bringing to life a workplace which energises and motivates its people to bring more of themselves to their jobs, in a way that enhances their own wellbeing as well as driving them to deliver a fantastic contribution to the success of their organisation. We’re also looking for examples where entrants show a deep understanding of how the workplace is changing and how people at work want to be more involved in decision-making and strategy.”
Andrea Verri, Managing Director of Amilon (Italy) said: “Being invited to judge the Incentive & Motivation Awards was professionally rewarding for me. It was great to have the chance to examine European best practices in incentive and motivation and also to have the opportunity to work with the best professionals, the other judges, in this field. The quality of the entries was generally impressive, with very few exceptions. Projects have been well presented and working on the selection has sometimes been very tough.”
