ACAS Update: Calling Contributions For New Flexible Working Code

ACAS have launched a new consultation to revise their statutory Code of Practice on handling requests for flexible working in a reasonable manner. The new Code will reflect the anticipated reforms to legislation, significant shift in flexible working in the workplace, and changing views since ACAS existing Code was published in 2014.

All interested individuals and organisations are being encouraged to contribute their valuable insights to this consultation, to help ensure the new Code is as relevant, clear, and explanatory as possible. This will help employers, representatives, and employees better understand the changing laws, and what good practice – when handling requests for flexible working in a reasonable manner – looks like.

Public consultation is now open and will last for about two months – commencing on 12 July 2023, and closing on 6 September 2023 at 11:59pm (BST). ACAS also anticipates that the Employment Relations (Flexible Working) Bill will receive Royal Assent shortly.

All interested contributors are welcome to respond to ACAS online form here.
