Discovery Workshop: What Engages People in Different Cultures?

DIY Employee Engagement Discovery Workshops – we need your help

The cross cultures subgroup at Engage for Success has developed the DIY Discovery Workshop to identify what enables people in different global cultures to engage themselves at work for their own benefit and for the good of their institution.  Engage for Success was founded to help UK PLC to grow.  The international group’s mission is to improve the experience people have at work wherever they work across the world.  John Smythe is part of the international group’s steering team.

We discovered that the public literature on engagement across cultures is thin (aside from what we can learn from the research companies and individual companies). The Discovery Workshop is designed to be run in any workplace by anyone.

Engage for change and the cross cultures subgroup are asking you to run Discovery Workshops anywhere outside the UK and report back with a page of key findings from the workshop to John Smythe (johnsmythe-at-engageforchange.com) and Caroline Sharley (carolinejsharley-at-gmail.com).

The results of the research will be available to anyone visiting the engage for success website once there is sufficient feedback. John Smythe, Caroline Sharley and others involved in the international group will be happy to brief you by phone on the use of the workshop. To get a copy of the workshop contact John Smythe via the email above or 00 44 7710 130755. Additionally visit the Engage for Change website.

The results of your workshops can be used in your own institution to build levels of engagement and provide a platform to raise the issue on management’s agenda. Use of the workshop is free but acknowledgement of Engage for Success is requested.

We will publish a report in 2015 and run a major conference as well.  We will also be available, on request, to visit your company/institution to run the workshops and/or to explore the results on negotiated terms.
