Radio Show #462: Engaging People With The Concept Of Coaching

Special Guest: Nick O’Donnell, Founder and CEO at The Spinning Plate

During a 30-year management career which began at one of the most powerful brands in the world, The Walt Disney Company, Nick O’Donnell saw immediately the power and impact excellent coaching and mentoring has on a person. But it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Today, even though coaching is more widely accepted and used, it can still be hard work convincing people of the benefits of working with a coach.

Nick has spent a great deal of his time working in Hospitality, and it is there that his coaching analogy and method of The Spinning Plate, has its origins. It’s how he’s managed to make the idea of coaching at all levels more relatable to people who may have previously been sceptical about it

Today, Nick uses this approach to help individuals and teams to be more resilient, more self-confident and more trusting of their own and their collective capabilities to attack challenging situations.  Right now, the Hospitality industry he loves is certainly facing challenging times where recruitment and retention are tough, so the outcomes Nick helps clients achieve have perhaps never been more important.

Listen in to find out what the Spinning Plate methodology is, and how you can engage more people with the idea of coaching to grow.
